Mentor Summer Music/Theatre Camp is a summer programme designed to offer quality
music and theatre instruction to children aged 10-14. |

MUSIC
Covering a range of styles from
Classical to Pop to Jazz and Rock, Mr. Ian Hoare, Calie Adamson and Beth Attwood will use
their combined talents and experience in offering a music camp that will be both
educational and fun! |

Heres how:
Students will be given instruction in each of the following areas: acoustic
guitar, vocal technique, and woodwind and/or brass ensembles.
During the course of each day, students will rotate from one section to another,
in 45-minute segments. Classes will be grouped according to experience, and there will be
a performance at the end of the three week session.

THEATRE
Turn on the fun...Lights, Camera, Action!
An exciting DRAMA camp is offered for the third season! Mr. Hoare, Ms. Adamson and Ms.
Attwood will use the natural creativity of every child to enhance and develop their sense
of theatrical flair. Children will be involved in all aspects of a dramatic
production including: |

Lighting
Voice projection
BlockingCome and enjoy our
performance at the end of the session. This will include a series of vignettes as well as
a larger production. CUT!
through long hours of summer boredom to hours of
learning and fun!

THE TEAM |
Mr. Ian
Hoare, B.Mus., B.Ed
Mr. Hoare has vast experience in woodwind and
brass bands, as well as piano, percussion, solo guitar and choral ensemble experience. He
performed for three seasons as a clarinetist with the Kingston Symphony Orchestra, and
Kingston Musical Theatre. He has been a teacher of music at Mentor College for 16 years,
and has co-directed 20 musicals. |

Ms. Calie
Adamson
Calie Adamson is a high school student at
Mentor College, and has attended music and theatre camp for five years. She is a veteran
performer of six musical productions at Mentor College. She is a clarinetist with the
Mississauga Youth Orchestra. |
Ms. Beth
Attwood
Beth Attwood was a Mentor student for ten
years and has been coming to music camp for four consecutive years. She is currently
studying music at Cawthra Park Secondary School in the Regional Arts Program. There, she
performs with the Intermediate Concert Band and the 250 voice "Ritz Choir". |

SESSION INFORMATION
Classes will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m., Monday through Friday.
Session: July 2nd - 19th. |

This great educational
experience is being offered at a cost of $600 per session. Half-day music camp (morning)
or half day drama camp (afternoon) is available for $300. Cheque or money order should be
made payable to Mentor College Summer Music Camp by June 7th, 2002.. The camp is limited to 20 students. Classes are located in
the music rooms at Mentor College Main Campus, 40 Forest Avenue, Mississauga. |
